Throughout the 2008-09 school year we witnessed some significant changes and accomplishments. At Second Street Elementary our focus changed from serving 4th and 5th graders to serving 3rd and 4th graders. This adjustment was necessary to allow for the building of two new schools: upper elementary and lower elementary. Along with a change in our focus came changes in our student body and faculty; but with our staff pulling together and each person doing his or her part, we overcame many obstacles.

Our goal was then, as it is now, to do whatever necessary to prepare our students for the next level in their educational careers. Our level of commitment to that goal is second to none, and we welcome the challenge to prepare yet another group of bright, young minds for what lies ahead of them.

We cherish the opportunity to work with these young people and their families. We accept the responsibility to guide our students as they grow intellectually and physically. Each school year brings with it new challenges and new possibilities. We are confident that we will meet those challenges head on, and by doing so, help to improve the lives and futures of our students.
