The Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District prides itself in providing a solid instructional foundation to all of our students that will prepare them for college and careers and help them to be productive members of society. The purpose of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to provide leadership and support to the administrators and teachers of the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District. It is our goal to provide consistent, high-quality instruction across all grade levels. We strive to equip our teachers with a coherent, content-rich curriculum to ensure our students’ continued academic growth.

The 2018-2019 school year was a year of many successes for the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District. As a result of the dedication and hard work of the staff and the students, the BWSD was the only district in the state to improve from a C to an A rating on the Mississippi Accountability Ratings. Additionally, the district ranked #1 in reading growth and #10 in math growth of the most promising 25% students. Bay High School was ranked #10 of 156 high schools in the state. The district as a whole improved from #61 to tied for #19 out of 145 districts in the state.

Last school year provided a foundation of unprecedented academic achievement for the students, teachers, and administrators of the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District. Through continued hard work, 2019-2020 looks to build upon that achievement.
