Joy Moran named BWSD Parent of the Year
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - Joy Moran, Bay High’s Parent of the Year, has been selected as Parent of the Year for the Bay-Waveland School District.
Other Parent of the Year recipients by school were Dianne Normand, Waveland Elementary; Casey Marquar, North Bay Elementary; and Brian Wilson, Bay Waveland Middle School.
Mrs. Moran is active in PTO Football and Baseball Boosters and is a substitute teacher at BHS. Her nomination by the BHS Leadership Team reads, “This parent has always assisted in aiding our students and teachers and faculty and staff to feel loved and appreciated. She took the lead on running the BHS middle as well as high school football concession stands, pre-game meals as well as banquet planning almost solely. She takes it upon herself to assist in planning meals for our faculty and staff to show her appreciation of them, just because. She also has taken the lead on assisting with many other athletic and academic initiatives and is always a positive voice for our people and our school. Mrs. Moran continues to do all of this for our school even after her children have graduated from BHS.”
Mrs. Moran describes herself as an advocate for Bay-Waveland schools and students. “I believe in portraying them with the positive light and spirit that they have and am excited to do so each and every day. I believe in our children having positive adult influences and I do my very best to try and assist in being one of those as well as promoting others to follow suit,” she said.
