BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) unit MS-934 based at Bay High School received high marks during its annual inspection by Chief Master Sgt. Wayne Barron of AFJROTC headquarters. The unit includes students from Pass Christian High School.
Chief Barron’s inspection was conducted to ensure that cadet operations, finances and congressional mandates were being followed and led by the MS-934 cadets themselves. The unit has 70 active members this year.
In the chief’s feedback to Dr. Amy Coyne, Bay High School principal, he said, “MS-934 has been, by far, the best unit out of the four units that I have inspected on this trip.”
Months prior to Barron’s inspection, retired Maj. Christopher Andersen and Master Sgt. Karen Chachere worked to ensure that their program exceeded the standards for the inspection.
Coyne said, “Maj. Andersen and Master Sgt. Chachere have been an invaluable addition to the Bay High School family and are building an outstanding program for cadets willing to step forward to accept the challenge to live the AFJROTC mission: ‘To develop citizens of character dedicated to the service of our community and nation.’”
