I had originally picked this photo because it showed the all-too-familiar mud. It was only later that I came to realize what lay in the foreground of the picture.
School administrators do their best to put on a good front with the meager tax dollars in their allotment, but they are strapped for resources and never purchase the best equipment. This particular desk looks nice, but it is made of particleboard and contact paper. It may have survived the biggest part of Katrina's rinse cycle, but eventually the front of the file drawer just fell off and landed on the muddy floor.
