Gym Floor, Bay High School

I had begun to walk across the gym floor in the dark. My flashlight was in the truck, but I did not expect to encounter any problems walking across a flat surface. I felt dizzy, as though I were walking uphill, then down again. It wasn't until later that I learned (from this picture) that the brand new gym floor was an ocean of waves, buckled and skewed by Katrina's flood waters.
