Desk Foot - Welded to the Floor You may have wondered why desks and chairs were piled high outside of the schools for disposal. This should give you some idea. As the flood waters poured through the classrooms, the chair legs filled with contaminated salt water which was then slowly released. The furniture, chrome plated on the outside, but not the inside, began to rust from the inside out. As it did so, it often stuck to the floor tile so tightly that it had to be kicked or pried loose. In many cases, the floor tile came off with the chair foot. |
