North Bay Elementary

A torrent of water rushed through these rooms like a river. It blew out walls and windows. It did not care about the art carefully crafted by second graders or the teaching aids collected over decades by experienced instructors. It was a vandal that cared about nothing; spared nothing. Katrina kicked down double layered walls of brick and block to attack the work of tiny hands and little hearts and left behind a collage of primary colors in a battered mess that stuck to the mud and became a magnet for mold that sprouted everywhere a shadow fell.
