A Message from the Principal

Dear BWMS Students and Parents,

 Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at Bay Waveland Middle School.  Bay Waveland Middle School has historically done an excellent job of challenging every student at his or her individual ability levels. We pride ourselves at the middle school in ensuring that we have high expectations, mentoring relationships and that we focus on teaching and learning.

 The middle school will continue PAWS which is our academic, behavior and attendance incentive program.  We will also continue an intensive honors program for grades 5-8. The honors program will test students to think through problem based learning in preparation to merge into the rigorous Honor’s Diploma Program at the high school. We will also incorporate problem based learning and the six facets of understanding into our general curriculum.  The efforts of this program are with the strength of teachers and support staff that strive to bring the best out of our students.
