Course Descriptions

Bay High School has an approximate enrollment of 625 students, served by over 40 certified staff members. Bay High is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools, a regional accrediting agency, and the Mississippi State Department of Education.

Bay High School shares a vocational facility with Hancock High School, which is located 15 minutes north of the school. The vocational center offers a wide array of curriculum offerings, such as Allied Health, Hospitality & Tourism, Food Service Technology, Automotive Mechanics and Building & Metal Trades.

The students at Bay High School are exposed to many real-life educational experiences through the Tech Prep Initiative. All ninth grade students take a course entitled "Technology Discovery", allowing students the opportunity to apply knowledge gained. With the addition of the Tech Prep Initiative, Bay High gained a fully staffed career center. The Career Center Technician assists students in discovering their interests through computer software programs as well as information concerning colleges and universities.

Students at Bay High enjoy many extra-curricular sporting programs --- football, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, and golf. The building of teamwork is seen as an important component of such involvement. Bay High offers students the opportunity to gain leadership experience by participating in many clubs and organizations.
